About Aloha Hawaiian BBQ

Located at 882 W Eisenhower Pkwy, Ann Arbor, MI 48103, Aloha Hawaiian BBQ operates as a hawaiian bbq serving Ann Arbor in Michigan. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as self service restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Ann Arbor, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Michigan run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–9:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Tuesday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (734) 332-8789. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is alohabbqmi.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 181 reviews, which is a strong result for a hawaiian bbq in Ann Arbor and suggests consistent service.

I’ve been coming to aloha for years. This is the genuine American dream folks. They serve generous portions of authentic Hawaiian cuisines. The food is amazing and a genuine value in these times of economic uncertainty. This is family owned and operated, and casual dining. Most often when you walk in, you are greeted by the sound of children playing in the corner booth. Do not come here If you want a dine in experience. Do come here if you want to support an incredibly friendly, and hardworking family restaurant.

Great food, with large portions and decent prices. We got the kalua pulled pork, chicken katsu, bbq chicken, and bbq beef. The beef stood out as the most flavorful. Everything was tender. I wish the sauce that came with the pork and katsu was a little more flavorful. A curry sauce with the katsu would have been amazing. Service was not as fast as I had expected. It wasn't slow, but just be aware that it's not fast-food.

The food here is amazing😍 I’ve been here two times now and I love it! I’ve never had Hawaiian food until I came here. The bbq chicken was so good it was my favorite so is the Kalua pork! The chicken is sweet and savory and the pork has a really good flavor and saltiness. The mac salad, rice, and cabbage all have a good flavor and go well with the meat. The chicken katsu was so good as well.

I recently visited Aloha Hawaiian BBQ and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. First, communication was difficult because the staff’s English was very limited. It made simple requests harder than they needed to be. Second, the food was served in plastic takeout containers instead of plates, even though we were dining in. On top of that, the food wasn’t brought to the table β€” you have to go and pick it up yourself. When I asked for salt, instead of giving a standard packet, the employee went to the kitchen, poured salt into a small plastic cup, and handed it to me. That felt unprofessional and unsanitary. The food itself was okay, but nothing special. It’s below average overall considering the service and presentation. I expected better.
